You could remove the 35%, add the vinyl, and then go darker on the back window (~20%). This will be closer to the vinyl color.

thats a good option, Ill go talk to them to see if they will work with me on the cost b/c I dont really want to have to pay again. but imagine we should be able to work something out.

Jumpman thanks for the pictures and letting me know they didn't have to sand it. That's the solution for me!

Numerous "high-end" tint shops told me this and that...nobody would guarantee the work.

Took it to a place I've been using in Thousand Oaks, CA for other cars.
1st Try..perfect and guaranteed for life.

Just find a good shop. They'll do a bit of sanding to rough it up, but if it's possible at least for a FRC.
Name of the shop in TO ? It still around?
