My wife has a 99 convertible and wound up with a dead battery, don't know if this has anything to do with the problem. Charged the battery , seems fine. The passenger and the power master window switch, [passenger window] do not work. The drivers works great. When I press the switch, I hear a click, on the right side.Any suggestions. Thanks
I have to say that the wording of your problem is confusing. But I am assuming that the passenger side window can not be operated by either the switch on the drivers door or the switch on the passenger door.
If that is correct then one of 3 things is wrong:
1) The window motor has failed.
2) The window is jammed in the track
3) The relay on the door control module to operate the window motor is either bad or not getting adequate voltage to fully function.
Given that you had a dead battery that is where I would start. I would have the battery fully charged and then load tested. Very possible for a weak or bad battery to be able to start the engine but not be able to properly power the C5 electricals.
If you have a digital multi meter and know how to use it I would measure the voltage across the battery posts with the negative battery cable disconnected (no load voltage). If the battery is 12.5 volts or less then I would have it fully charged and then load tested. A good battery at full charge will measure 12.7 to 12.9 volts or more no load.......
My drivers door window would not work, just get the relay click. Only advice I got on here was to slam the door a couple of times to jiggle the switch. Did not work. Car was then parked for a couple of weeks, started it up and tried the window and everything worked as normal. So do not know what was the problem, maybe a loose connection. Not much help for you, just my experience.
