While not a true CAI the Blackwing is another popular choice. It's one of the original C5 aftermarket intakes, it's one of the cheapest and installs in about 6 minutes.
The more I look at going with an Intake the less I want to cut up my car (honker) or MacGuyver the shoddy fitment issues (vararam). The blackwing is straight forward to install and cheap.
Also check out the Zip Tie and Flip Tie Intake mods while you are at it.

Yeah but a Blackwing is good for what...3-5 hp? A Honker is good, or so I hear, for about 15-20 hp. Not bad for $500.

No not 15-20hp. It's just an Intake.
Callaway Honker has been proven around 9-11hp.
The Flip Tie mod which is the same idea is free and likely makes similar power.
Again it's just an Intake. You might feel an additional 10hp. But that's up to you. Will you feel a difference between 7hp (blackwing) and 11hp (honker)? Probably not. Anyway I was just suggesting it as an option. They install so easily and even use the factory mounting locations.
