Went into garage this morning and saw a puddle of appears to be oil, probably about quart. The 2000 vette sat for about a week, has never any leaks at all. Amy suggestions of why and where it would be leaking.
Ron
First question is, where is the puddle at? A quart is a heck of a lot of oil to leak out sitting still. Are you sure it's engine oil? Just need a little better info.

Sorry, appears to have started a few inches to the left side of the oil filter, probably wasn't a quart, but ran from the initial leak and ran to the back of the car from one side to the other. Car has about 35,ooo miles, oil changed regularly, never driven hard. It looks like oil, crystal clear and feels like oil.
Thanks
A/C compressor oil/fluid? I have a "clear" oil leak only passenger side right on the cradle where the spring bolts to the cradle. Its not dark enough to be engine oil, nor does it smell like it.
The engine coolant would be slightly slick like oil. The coolant reservoir's is known to leak where the hoses connect. I replaced mine with a Dorman 603-140 that has metal inside that area. Check fluid levels.
It first has to be determined positively what the fluid is.
Upon further examination, I did a feel test between antifreeze and what was on the floor, I now believe it is probably antifreeze. I ran the car until the coolant tent went up to 215 and shut it down. I'll check for leaks when it cools down.
Thanks for everyone's response. I now need to find out where it's coming from based on the location.
Water pump or infamous coolant reservoir ( cracked at the T) would be my guess..

Dexcool has a red tint to it and tastes TERRIBLE, really bitter. Antifreeze is no longer sweet so it doesn't kill pets, etc.
I too have a coolant leak in my 02 but mine sounds minor compared to your's. I cannot find my leak, even with car in a lift
