I left Richmond VA at 5am on a plane to Jacksonville Fl to pick up a 99 6spd vert my buddy had bought off the internet. I left Jacksonville in the car at 1pm, and was home by 10pm, 600 miles behind the wheel. Was no problem and I'd do it again tomorrow. It was a fun trip!

For me the road is all about the adventure. I have made several straight thru "death marches" from Palm Springs to Oscoda on big Harleys. To this day I think of all the cool stuff I motored right on by. If you can manage the time, take your time. I am planing on returning to So Cal to visit my Sis in the next couple years and I know I will be in the C5, it is a pure joy to travel in and I will have no time table. If you haven't seen the video on the Corvette caravan 2014 take a look at it, thats my idea of traveling. Mike

My Lady wants to "Thank You" she says now she would fly to Grand Rapids and then we will drive together back to her home taking our time !!!!

If you do the trip, I got into a mindset; followed my gut and drove as fast as I safely could, stopped when I felt like it, just keep moving ahead and when I got there I got there. Steady like the turtle.

Well my Lady bought her plane ticket, flying into Grand Rapids the 20th. Then the trip south together taking our time and enjoying the ride and view !!!! Did I tell you She hates to fly !!!!(think she loves me) !!!

My only response to this is that
All I can say is that I know we sincerely hope for the very best for both Pounder and his new lady. There is nothing like a genuinely true soulmate to bring great peace and happiness to one's older years. I know, I found mine 7 years ago @ 69y/o, and I would try to ride a 10-speed bike 1,000 miles to be with her! She is so beautiful in every way. Just like a C5!
