Default Trunk pop-up fix??

I remember seeing some posts about this problem a couple of weeks ago, but . . . I didn't read them. oops.

Now that I've picked up my 03, I have noticed that the trunk doesn't pop up enough. So, I have to hook my finger tip under the lip, and it barely fits.

So, what's the fix?

thanks from the newbie.

I think that is just how GM desinged it to work. I have owned a convertible and a Z06 and they do the same thing.

The Wd-40 thing is not the best to mess with as it gums things up. You should try rotating the 2 rubber stops on the edge of the deck lid counterclockwise to give the trunk more momentum when the latch releases.

Here's my fix. When I'm in the car and I hit the trunk open button I have the window up on both doors. I then shut the door as i go around to the trunk and the air pressure pops the lid up enough to easily get your hands under the lid.

The WD40 trick I tried on my 99 FRC and it was only a temporary fix. I also used the closing the door method as mentioned above. No problems now on my Z06 (so far).

In addition to the other tips, I baught some spring from the hardware store and threaded it on to the shaft of the little struts for additional pressure when compressed. This helps also. take care, Matt
