Default Brake cooling tips?

I've got an 03 Z and have done a lot to my stock brakes: stainless steel pistons, brake ducting to the rotors, Castrol SRF, stainless steel brake lines and titanium pad backing plates. Pads are Carbotech XP10s and rotors are cheap Chinese. On HPDE weekends, I have to bleed the brakes after each day. I should bleed twice a day.

Has anybody experimented with caliper paint: which types/colors dissipate more heat than others, etc?

Thanks - Spaggs

I bought a used set of Brembos off of a wrecked 2008 Shelby GT500 for my former 2014 Mustang GT. I sanded them and repainted with VHT caliper paint. After the paint dries you bake them at 200 degrees for about an hour to cure the paint. They claim good for up to 900 degrees. I ended up selling the car before installing them so sold on Ebay. http://www.tcpglobal.com/VHTSP734.ht...4#.WMOGG2_yvIU

I'll assume I've done all I can do with the stock brakes, unless someone has a helpful tip.

Take care -

No paint would be best for heat dissipation. If you are getting your calipers hot enough at track days any paint will turn dark. Here's a pic of the calipers on a Camaro that were painted with the VHT brake caliper paint. Started out red and went dark after the first track day and just kept getting darker.

Yep what Dan said above. ^^^ My former Mustang Cobra's red calipers turned dark red after a few track days. However after rereading your OP, I think you're looking for a way to avoid bleeding the brakes after a track day? If you are running a track fluid like MOTUL you shouldn't need to bleed until after about 5 fifteen minute sessions. The bigger the rotors however, the cooler the calipers stay because the larger rotors disippate heat better.

OP, sometimes what you think is air in the brakes, is really pad taper. This give the brake peddle a soft feel. OE calipers will flex with heat that cause this.
