I fired mine up and took it for a short spin before the next round of wacky weather moves into the Northeast. It was a bit cold - when I came out to the car after having let it run for a bit I saw something on the DIC "Remove Key - wait 10sec". Wasn't sure if there were additional messages that prefaced this one or not. Dutifully turned the engine off, waited 10sec, restarted it, saw no codes, and went for my ride. Any clues on the message?

Glad I did mine last month before I had a problem. Their Skip Shift kit by the way is supposed to be the only one that also eliminates the light too. Also very easy to install. I did them both and feel more secure.
Original owner did the LMC5 several years ago. Late last season I started getting the pull key and wait 10 sec message. Looked for brown wire fix in my installation papers and discovered I don't have a brown wire in my instructions. Was there a change in the LMC5 at one time?
It can also be caused by a weak battery. This is not to say that a bypass shouldn't be installed, by now I figured every C-5 owner should have gotten that message.

I would contact Richard at Compliance Parts with your question. One of the nicest/most helpful guys I've chatted with on the phone.

There was a change. The one I installed did not have the brown wire. I get the message once in a while but only when first starting the car.
Mine has been doing that for years! Never did anything, I pull the key out wait 10 seconds, start it up and it runs perfect. Both of my Zs do it no problem.
Thanks for the replies - you guys are great! I do have the "campaign sticker" on my fenderwell that "something" was done about this problem. It was also a relatively cold day (low 30's) which might have been a factor. Now that we have our Feb weather in March it will be sitting for a while - will monitor as Spring rolls in.....
