It is a project car so gremlin chasing /proofing is part of the challenge. When I get my replacement units I will try to open one of the old ones and see if there is a fix.
This forum has been a valuable resource for so many other issues. Maybe I will find something new to contribute if it turns out to be serviceable. I will take pictures either way.
I'm assuming I will have to cut the plastic welds with a Dremel and epoxy it back together when finished.
On the drivers side the lumbar is on when the switch is in the center at rest and down. It shuts off when you pull up on the switch.
The passenger seat does a chattering thing. Tick tick tick like a partial short circuit. I actually thought it was a leaf spring cracking at first because the sound was coming from the bottom of the floor board.
I’ve seen those switches burn out the seat control module and the motors. The switches are all Chinese and crappy. I’ve had more than one bad right out of the box.
Even more rare than the typical lumbar seat switch is the base sport seat switch. They don’t make them aftermarket and finding a used one is difficult and expensive.
