My '01 doesn't burn a drop, I've heard its about 5% of total production.
You rarely hear about an '02 doing it, however I know a few people with '02's that use a qt. every 2k to 3k and thats well within the acceptable range for any performace engine..imho.
MY '01 burnt 10 quarts in 1000 miles. None so far on my 03.
  Wow. By far the highest consumption I've heard of ...
My '02, w/9500 miles, seems to be using about a quart in 4000 miles. I'd also guess at about 5% of the '01s having the problem, but there's no way to know. In a perfect world, the manufacturer would make overall repair/problem statistics public, which would keep them honest and keep us informed.
Check previous posts on the Forum. The oil useage is dependent on driving "style". If you hold a lot of rpms as you motor around town (ie. 3500-4000) then you will get ring flutter. Flutter doesn't occur at WOT.So basically all 2001 Z06s will do it (according to the experts) if driven in the stated RPM range. The fix by GM is to install a different set of rings (different desgn-doesn't flutter). Hope this helps - there are a bunch of excellent Threads archived on this topic.
