Found a 2001 red C5Z with 34k miles advertised at $18,900.. appears to be completely unmolested and bone stock.
It is a three owner car, with no accident history.
I have three questions..
1- What is a fair offer for the vehicle (assuming vehicle is in very good /excellent condition) ?
2- Major items to look for during pre-purchase inspection?
3- Any common issues with the LS6 / C5Z?
Thanks in advance!

Sounds like a good price.. About where it should be priced with the low miles. Offer 16.5 and be prepared to pay the 18K. Anything less is a bonus.
Check the DIC for codes. First thing to do.
Next check the normal inspection items, hoses, brakes, tires.
See if he has the service records for oil changes, etc,
With only 34K, should be fine (unless tracked regularly and sounds like it was not).
The LS6 engines are very reliable. About the only issues with the 01 Z06, was oil burning issues due to ring flutter. Not all of them have these issues;
...my only concern is a pulsing vibration that's there between 60-90 (I'm sure it's more as the speed increases, but 90 was max on the test drive)..
It feels like it's coming from the front left, and pulses from the front to the rear of the car.. they're going to do a balance and alignment, and if that solves the vibration, I'll pick up the car sometime next week.
...if it doesn't solve the issue, it'll go to Chevrolet next week to get diagnosed... I don't want to invest in something that's going to have me chasing an issue from the start..
Congratulations on a great buy..the vibration could be from tires got out of balance...i have an 01z too..i noticed my started to vibrate at higher speeds I don't drive it much but last time I had alignment and balance done was few years back so will be getting mine rechecked...good luck with yours
Paying for a local car you get to check out in person through a retailer who will actually be there in person weeks after the sale is what I'd want. His car is worth every penny. Take your childish black cloud and rain elsewhere.

Agreed. I never bought a car site unseen on eBay, if I did I would expect to pay 2-3k less than the going rate to account for the hidden problems that your more than likely to find later. I don't see eBay as an accurate measure of any cars actual value.

Ebay is not sight unseen, you can go check out the car before you bid. Or not pay for the car (even if you won the auction) unless it's as described. I bought my 94 Cobra from an ebay seller, checked it out beforehand, and it had NO hidden issues (I've owned it for 10 years now).

I've looked at lots of cars in person advertised/auction on eBay over the years. Bought two. It's just another advertising outlet like the rest.
OP - sounds like a good price for the cars based on mileage alone. I'm not shopping for that car right now but almost seems under valued for the mileage.

Could be tires related, wheel bearings, etc. Hard to say, but with this few miles, it should not have any major issues, unless it was not maintained or tracked regularly. Was it a garaged car or left out in the elements? Normally low mileage Vettes like this were garage kept.
