Want to change the trans fluid and differential fluid. Read somewhere that we should stick with Delco brands for the Z. What's the GM brands and serial numbers? Thanks.
I would look at using Transynd 295... We used it in the Allison transmission in our RV behind a 8.1L Chevrolet. I have talked at length with the engineer the spec'd, tested & certified it. I used in my 83 Monte Carlo SS 350 auto trans and my 2010 Challenger 6 son Tremec 6060. Not cheap $40 a gal.
I use Amsoil severe gear 75w90 for the diff and Redline D4 ATF for the trans.
I found that trans fluid is trial and error. My car didn't like Royal Purple or Amsoil ATF. When I was searching the same question I found you can find posts for every ATF that will say it shifts like butter. There will also be posts for every fluid saying it didn't work. Its a matter of finding what works for your car. At 40 ish dollars a jug it can be an expensive and frustrating part of maintenance.
