I am looking for an '03 or '04. Just saw an '04 that has a CD changer, and a factory cassette head in the dash. Never knew cassette players were still being put in cars at that time.
Anyway, how do you control the CD changer? I see nothing marked "CD" on the dash.
All depends. I have used my changer filled with all my favorite burned music for five years and 30K miles without a single issue. The music files were free and the CDs were about 20 cents a piece. Bought two extra cartridges for 15 bucks a piece. It is the same music you probably listen to and it was just about free. Music is music. Doesn't matter if it comes out of a $1000 stereo or the factory unit. I would not call that worthless. Believe it or not, I really like my CD changer and if it does ever fail I will replace it with another used changer.
Of course the cassette player really is worthless. It has never been used on my car. The CD changer? All the time.

I have 3 cartridges filled with 600 of my favorite songs on CDs that I paid nothing for and they have never stopped playing once in the 5 years and 30K miles I have owned the car. How much money have you spent to play the same music?
My CD player has given me hundreds of hours of music listening pleasure. Not worthless to me.

Not going to argue with you JR, like I said to each his own, but if you have to know less than 600 hundred for a state of the art DD radio with backup camera and Android play and hands free calling, I love technology !!!!

How much did you pay for your music? I am old school and not a huge fan of the latest technology. I make do, would not change a thing on my C5 and I will use the technology that comes with my next Corvette. C6 or C7.
A little off topic.
As stated above you control the CD changer with the AUX button on the deck.
When we bought our Vette it had the original tape deck in the trunk, and an aftermarket head unit in the dash which sounded awful, and looked awful.
I bought a factory CD head unit off Craigslist and am so happy I did. I personally don't mind the looks of it and the stereo isn't THAT bad for sound, but I don't really care about it. I would rather listen to the car, actually. But it just fits well with the rest of the dash and controls.
When I was looking at Vettes last year I always knocked the price down if they had aftermarket stereos. To me, it is a detriment not a selling point.

Thanks,

BTW, I was going by photos- I didn't actually look at the car in person. If I buy it, I will probably yank the factory audio and put in an 8 track.
Just sayin...... the OP just wanted to know how to turn on his CD changer and he got a slew of opinions about how CDs are worthless and he should get rid of it and spend money on new technology. He got more information than he needed and probably wanted.
To me, it's an automobile, not a "rolling sound chamber", and I don't take the 'Vette on long trips, either. The local radio stations, and/or one of my favorite CDs is more than adequate for the 20-30 minute jaunts that I normally take......

The AUX button will control the CD changer.
