I was staying on point and answered his question. Some of you do like to bicker. If he wants to use his CD changer, it's his choice.

Doesn't matter if it comes out of a $1000 stereo or the factory unit. I would not call that worthless. Believe it or not, I really like my CD changer and if it does ever fail I will replace it with another used changer.
Of course the cassette player really is worthless. It has never been used on my car. The CD changer? All the time.
I agree mine has the cassette player and cd changer and works great. But cassette player is never used.

The cassette player is still useful, altho "old school". You can still play those older cassettes you have, and I, like sids04, plug in a $3.00 cassette adapter which plugs into my iPod for unlimited, uninterrupted music, and I can also load up the CD disc cartridge whenever I want. And I don't have to unplug the CD player or bypass it with an $80 adapter to direct connect the iPod into the radio, I can use either whenever I want. So many options at almost no cost, and the audio quality is as good as it gets on a highway trip with road and wind ambient noise. If I ever went the extra mile and soundproofed my car, then maybe a double din headunit would follow, but that's all superfluous for my use at the present time. My sound quality is quite good as it stands, good enough for the local trips I take listening to NPR.
