Default C5 z06 cags

Does the C5 Z06 have the CAGS shift interrupt or even a shift light?

Yes it has cags unless tuned out or a skip shift eliminator is installed.

No shift light unless the cags light is set in the tune as a shift light.

You can also buy the cags-skip product from Compliance Parts. They also offer the LMC5.

Hmm, didn't know you could do that. That's a cool idea. Wish I would have known that when I had mine tuned last year.

Doug at ECS tunes out the light and CAGS when he does a tune.

Yeah, definitely a neat feature. My old car had a factory shift light which was awesome, but I haven't really missed it too much with my vette.

There is a shift light incorporated in the HUD.

I was told if you have a HUD and a manual tranny, the ls1 will show a shift light at 5,750 rpms and the z06 at 6,250 rpms projected on your windshield ? I was also told that it had to be in competition mode ?

Interesting, never knew there was a shift light in the HUD. My car doesn't have HUD but in the vehicles I've driven with HUD it never came on, though I wasn't in competitive driving mode.

Yeah, I believe it flashes SHIFT in the same color. Not quite the same as an aftermarket bright LED but helpful nonetheless.

Thanks. My LT1 Z28 in high school had the CAGS. I ordered the eliminator that plugs in to the transmission area. It still illuminated but would not lock out the 1-2 shift.

I kind of assumed the regular LS1 C5s would have it, but not the LS6 Z06 cars. That is neat what Doug does to kill the light and the forced shift.

I would be surprised if you could find a well-known LSx tuner who doesn't do this by default.

my predator tunes out the CAGS but maintains the stock SHIFT light in the HUD. I tried it out this weekend and sure enough it works at 6,250 rpm ( Z06 ), 5,750 on the LS1 with HUD.
