Hey there. I just purchased a 1999 Corvette and would like to change out the CD changer for something so I can add my ipod or aux or whatever. Ive read about the iSimple and DoubleDmods but nothing is available any longer. I dont want to rip apart the dash for a new stereo, Ive heard that is a nightmare with the Bose system.

If you haven't done so, go ahead and contact Dennis at Double D Mods and talk to him about this. If the iSimple is not available any more, he may have another suggestion.

I have the adapter that converts your CD Changer to enable you to use an auxiliary cable to plug into the headphone jack of your phone by unplugging the CD changer harness and plugging in the adapter to the CD Changer Harness (no other modification is required to do this other than unplugging one harness and plugging the other one in and running an auxiliary cable under your cargo area carpet to your drivers seat area). However, I just did a little search for this (as it has been many years since I did this mod) and stumbled upon this (below). Although I have not used this BT Set-Up, it sounds like it would be a bit better than the set-up that I have by using an auxiliary cable.
Keep in mind, don't expect to have a miraculously awesome sounding audio unit with a set-up like these. All it really does is allow you to listen to your music that is on your phone at normal fidelity quality (not really high fidelity). In fact, I feel that the CD Changer had better sound than plugging the adapter into the phone.
Again, I have not used this set-up below. Just food for thought that there is hope if you are searching for a way to listen to music from your phone without changing the entire radio (OEM Head unit).
Take a look at this link and let us know what you think: You will still need to call Dennis at Double D Mods so he can send you every component that you will need (with or without the CD Changer option)
Thanx for the reply. So I would want exactly what you have, don't need the Bluetooth. What parts do you have?

I have the I-Simple unit in the vette and an USA Spec unit in the
Tacoma. Comparing the 2 the USA is hands down the better unit. With a little patience you can pick one up on the auction site.
Thanx but I cant seem to find one for my age of corvette.

Do you have a cassette player in the radio? Get a $3 cassette adapter and plug it into your iPod or phone jack. It's cheap and works well, no mods, no wires to run anywhere.

According to their web site, DD Mods still has THIShttp://shopddmods-com.3dcartstores.c...TION_p_52.html in stock... I've got one in my '99. Easy to install and works great. I paired mine with a ProClip phone holder so my iPhone sits just to the right of the stereo where it's easy to reach and easy to see when I'm using the GPS nav.
