I have a base 97 and went with the C6 base OE shocks, because they are cheaper than the OE C5 shocks. They work great on bumpy roads, and autocross great. They are a good match for the softer springs than what the Z uses which what the Zo6 shocks are designed for. Stiffer shocks will not always make it better. Stiffer springs use a stiffer shock. Softer springs should use a softer shock. If the Z shock was ultimately the best, why didn't they use that on every car?

Agreed. That's what I did to my C5 and it made a fantastic improvement and a reasonable price.

Another +1 for C6 Z06 shocks, much improved over the F45 shocks I had previously. For the price and what they offer is going to be hard to beat.

I would like to hear more about the DRM Bilsteins. Anyone else use them?

Thinking of doing the same, I have the original working F45 shocks, but I am sure the C6 ZO6 shocks would make am improvement.

for me they were a little to harsh on the side streets. They were great on the hwy. I switched to C6z06 and am much happier for a dd.

another vote here for the C6Z from Gene culley .. big improvement.. if you can stretch get the C6 Z51 sway ways and metal end links...

I've got a 99 .. greatly improved ride and stability.. feels sporty but not harsh

I went with C6Z socks and end links. I couldn't be happier.

I absolutely love my Bilstein B6 HD Line..
the B8 is more sporty-stiffer
Mine is a 2000 Vert that is just driven, not tracked.
Great improvement over stock and not too harsh..
FYI , I did try the the Monroe OE Spectrum Replacements.. They work, but seem
mushy compared to The Bilstiens. Even more mushy than stock..
But they are cheap.. So depends on how you drive

That's what I did...in combination with Z51 sway bars and metal end links, handles like a slot car.
