I do not not think I would waste the money for a full dyno-tune without a minimum of; CAI, LT's and cat back. These mods are well worth it and I would absolutely do it again.

Man, I really need to learn all of these C5 related abbreviations...what is LT?
Man, I really need to learn all of these C5 related abbreviations...what is LT?
CAI: Cold Air Intake
H/C/I: Head/Cam/Intake (as in manifold not CAI)
LT: Long Tube headers
DIFF: Differential/Rear
PUMPKIN: DIFF Case
CAT: Catalytic Converters
CAT BACK: Exhaust/Mufflers past or in back of the CAT’s
TB: Throttle Body
FI: Fuel Injection
FUBAR: …..uh, nevermind
the OP is obviously on a budget.. start with the affordable easy to do yourself mods.. get a intake.. ( CAI ) callaway honker and vararam are the two most popular.. that's about $3-400. a cheaper cat back is around $5-600.. send your ECM off to ECS or Frost and get a $150 tune. that will make a noticeable difference in power and performance, should be good for at least 30 HP.. if that is not meeting your needs, then do the headers, that will get you another 15-25 or so....and then take the next step and get a full dyno tune...will wake it up.
This is exactly what I did. Halltech intake, new plugs/wires, TI catback, then went to ECS for Doug's street tune. Woke the car up big time. When I asked about hp numbers (didn't Dyno it) Doug said I could add 16-17%, so I'm satisfied.
Seriously, a distributor? Not to mention the extra fat.
The company is Nick Arias Motors. The picture was the only one that I could find and I don’t think is an LS engine, but he makes the heads for Chevy small blocks, big blocks, and LS engines. Not endorsing them, but if you didn’t want a Mopar in your ‘vette but were dead set on an hemi head engine this is available. I will stick with my LS as is.
Personally for a few more hp numbers, I don't think it's worth spending the $ I would do small things, like CAI, catback exhaust, tune that's it. But if you can do all the installs yourself that would save some serious dough. Good luck
Check out the "DYNOTUNE " thread above. I see folks chasing #s that they may never use. You can start small and add as you go, and it will get you where you want to end up.
I was real lucky in that the former owner had spent the big $ and I got the great results free. But, left on my own, I would have gone way overboard for numbers I do not need. Now, if I need to sell it, I have a real sweet little hot-rod that a fuel conscious buyer ( which I am not) would like.

The only thing he skipped that in hindsight I may have done is the CAI intake and some slight air flow upgrades.
