Default Wheel upsizing question

I am having a hard time getting 17" wheels for the front of my 03 coupe. Would I be able to run 18" wheels with a 50 offset with 245/40R18 instead of the stock 245/45R17? The diameters are the same but do I need to worry about rubbing. My car is stock height.

Thanks,
Rob

As long as the diameters are the same you will have no problems, you could go to a 255/40x18 with no problems also. You are looking for a Tire diameter difference of .6 to 1.5" with the rear being larger for best results.

I have been running 18" x 10" wheels up front with 265/35-18 tires for several years now with no problems. Conti DW's in case you want to know.

Thanks to all for your help. I've decided to go with 245/40/18s in the front and 275/40/18s in the rear.
