Default C5 Corvette DIC instrument panel lights

My 2003 Corvette DIC button lights stay on after the car is turned off and it has run my battery down twice. The lights that stay on are the DIC panel buttons and the Heads up display buttons. Any suggestions? Thank you.

H.V. checking in,

First off here is my advise take in mind i am not a current owner but a soon to be owner however i have a lot of expierence with the corvette platform.

be calm and relax. check your dic and make sure it's powered up. if not remove your dic and see if there is a CSMOS battery disconnect feature. this is an old scam by chevrolet to make customers replace the primary battery in the car when a simple C230 csmos swap will solve your dic problems. i dont like when the dic in my SAAB (not really a dic like the new stingrays but a dic none the less.) acts up but just get it checked out and threaten your dealer with the mangunson moss act if he refuses to take care of you and your dic. Between nanny features and electronics I dont know what direction this country is going in.

H.V. checking back in,

I do not want issues with any members on here that may reside or have resided in the Portland area. There was a rumor around town that Harry moved and I was a well known member in the Portland camaro get to gether groups. i have not been in portland in years and know nothing about any other members from that area. I want to let everyone know that you need to take your cars to your dealers and get familiar with them. there is nothing better then a great conversation with your service manager--- i have had past service managers call me for my girlfriends camaro and ive gotten all kinds of warranty work handled out of the timeframe all because i built a bond with my service manager. so i can not stress this enough the dic on any modern car needs to be maintained... mopar is having electronic issues and its going to come to a point where cars that feature a gasoline engine will cease to exist. for all i know they will be powered by vegatable oil so i know the days of big block and small block v8s are coming to an end. i can not stress this enough. a good service manager customer relationship can take you YEARS past your "normal vehicle coverage.".

H.V. here,

do you have an update on this situation. i am scared by the new electronics now of the stingray and found a local c4 in superb contition for around my price range. your comments could influence me on which corvette i choose as i trust the c4s dic over the newer stingrays but i am still not set. i am thinking c4 200 shot and ill still have 60k left over if anything happens. my budget is currently around 15k... i could move it up to the 40 mark but that would mean extended stay hotel for the foreseable future. the old lady has excelent credit i could secure a few loans and make something happen but these dic problems are pushing me far away from the stingray and to the c4.

I had the same problem. Here's the resolution and also a temporary workaround.
