Just had the service performed at a local dealer while getting the oil changed and the state inspection done( she's at 99260 but that's close enough). Brake fluid and coolant had already been done and so I had the differential and power steering fluid changed and the transmission fluid drained & refilled w/a filter(no flush w/a machine). The dealer has a Corvette tech and I had him go ahead and install the new plugs/heat shields & GM red wires I had bought a while back. I started to do the job but after tugging on a couple of wires that would not budge(orig. ones) I decided a pro would be a better option(he even showed me the cuts and abrasions he suffered doing the changeout-better him than me).He also checked the torque on the upgraded endlinks and sway bars that were installed about six months ago. All parts and labor ran about a grand but I had started a Corvette repair fund at my bank when I first bought her over three years ago that came in handy. Totally worth it to me--I paid that much on the 100K service on my 3000GT 5 years ago.
To be honest, the only difference I could feel was a bit smoother idle and the WOT is immediate. She shifts a little better/smoother too.
Now the only thing left to do is to pull the EBCM & send it off to correct the 1214 code that pops up every now & then and I'll be done
fixing everything on her .
That big day is getting close and it looks like you'll be ready!!
I put between 250-450 miles per month(depending on the season) so it will be around June when I hit the big 100K--I'll be sure to post a pic when it occurs.
