From my understanding of the wiring diagram, the orange wire is leaving the control box per your description.
Good morning it looks like I found a schematic that shows that the orange and black wire may have 5 volt I would like to send you that schematic but I'm not sure how by way of this platform. If you email me I could probably do it easier
Thanks again have a great day
This is what I found for the 2000 steering system, which should be close to yours. I would check the black/white wire on the EBTCM to make sure it has a good ground.
Edit: This is the entire EBTCM system:
The two components that are throwing codes share ground and 5v reference connections from the EBTCM.
The picture that I had definitely shows power on that orange and black it's a request torque signal how can I send you that picture boy I missed two days of a carburetor and choke and a set of points LOL
Hi there I'm looking at that wonderful diagram
I had mentioned earlier that a diagram that I had shows that the orange black had power it was requested torque to the PCM.. after studying the schematic that I received from you I noticed that online number 27 and 25 the electronic brake traction control module are both orange black and one is a ground and the other one is requested torque to the PCM. So I guess my question is which one has power and why are they both the same color
The more I get to know this car the more I understand why they are the same color. Never in my life have I had a vehicle that constantly had to be tinkered with in regards to the electrics... is definitely a love-hate relationship. Do you have any other advice that I may be able to follow I truly appreciate your help I know time is valuable
thanks again Max
Hello I like to wish you happy Easter. As I mentioned before I unplugged the lateral accelerometer as well as the yaw module.. as well as the power steering positioning module.. I checked both of the orange / black wires and there was power on both instead of only one. I then unplugged the electronic brake traction control module.. I checked that plug for all good connections check the ground and cleaned up the ground post on the frame rail and of course there were no power on any orange/black wire.. and then I plugged electronic brake traction control module back up and the problem was still there..
any ideas
Thanks again.

Hey guys, I have done some reading about the EBCM, and I'm being to think the main module (EBCM) is dead.
2000 C5 Convertible
I'm getting the P1257 and TSC no Comms on the DIC, I have gone through and cleaned the grounds. They all look and tested ok. I added a second ground to the pump motor, and check for power and grounds at the connector. All seem fine. But still no comms. I also traced a few serial data bus line using a test toner. That was an experiment...
I pulled the EBCM unit, and resolidering the connections on the internal board, althrough my unit is different than most of the vidoes out there. As there is only one connector on the unit, not two. Reinstalled the unit and still no change. ( TSC no Comms).
Any other suggestions.. Or is this unit toast.
