Going to be replacing the balancer very soon and all the hoses and water pump are original on my 98 are original, so while the balancer and belts are being replaced its time to refresh the cooling system.
What is the recommended water pump to use. My LS1 is bone stock with 40,000 miles. Would like the ACDelco part numbers if possible. Do the gaskets come with the Delco pump or do they get ordered seperately
I've found that to be the case often. Especially if you have Prime with free shipping. I always check both Amazon and Rock Auto before buying a part, and end up buying from Amazon every time.

Me too. Bought a new EBCM for $500 on Amazon. $250 cheaper than anyplace else. I get part number from Rock and usually buy from Amazon.
I also bought from Amazon. One tip for you. Put rubber bands on the two gaskets around the water pump to hold them in place while installing the new pump.
as suggested here regarding the gaskets. The gasket on the passenger side can be seen once the pump is flush with the block. But the gasket on the drivers side cannot. Because of this mine had dropped to the floor without me knowing it. Until of course the car took a very unusual amount of water when running and filling it. Then i looked down and saw that same water running out from under the car. As well as the gasket on the garage floor.
I got extra practice changing the water pump that evening. Much quicker the second time around!!!
