Default clutch question

Hello

I have to replace my rear main seal, front seal and harmonic balancer.
I would like to replace my clutch by the same opportunity.
What is the best price quality ratio for a clutch knowing that my engine is stock .

My garage accepts that I bring my pieces and will count me 20 h of labor.

thanks for your help

How do you use your car? Do you primarily pleasure drive, drive spirited, drag race or road course? How do you like your stock setup? Are you planning to do any engine mods in the future? How many miles on the current clutch?

Me personally, I drive mostly highway with some spirited activity such as auto cross. I have a stock Z06. I had a C6 Z06 clutch and TICK master cylinder put in. My car drives pretty much like stock but clutch pedal effort is a little more. I'm ok with that because I like the adjustable travel length.

Parts cost should be in the $400-$600 range depending on what you choose to change. If budget is a concern, you can replace the master cylinder at a later date. Just get what is between the engine and torque tube replaced. (Clutch, flywheel, slave cylinder, and bearing).

If your car is high mileage you may want to have the bearings and bushings replaced in the torque tube. I think that is the $100-$150 range.

thankx

my car is mostly my daily driver but not hard driven.
i like my stock clutch.
i don't know how many miles on the clutch.I bought the car with 78k and now she's 135k.
i replaced the master cylinder 2 years ago because of the sticky pedal.
i plan to replace the clutch disk, pressure plate, flywheel and slave cylinder since the transmission will be removed to change the rear seal.
i m also concern with the fee and taxes, i live in europe.

ps. sorry for my english

There is no problem with your English so there is no need to apologise.

The clutch is likely the original and is likely due for changing. It sounds like you're on the right track. Hopefully fees and taxes won't be too bad. Good luck!

PS. Make sure they flush the master cylinder before they hook it up to your new slave cylinder. A good mechanic should do that but it wouldn't hurt to mention it.

For a daily driver like you mention and wanting an upgrade without sacrificing streetability, I'd also go with the C6 Z06 clutch kit, late model C5 Z06 slave cylinder, and do your seal at the same time. The parts are extremely inexpensive compared to aftermarket, and you should notice a similar driving feel with better performance capabilities than your OEM unit. We sell the LS7 clutch kits for $559 including the flywheel if you are in need of the parts shipped to you in your country. Let me know if we can be of assistance!
