I recently replaced the front with the Polk tweedlers 3.5 and they sound great so I wanted to get the matching Polk 6.5 for the rears. I pulled the stock one and the mounting holes for the new Polk don't match up at all with the stock holes or cut out.
Any idea how to mount this securely? I can't even drill 4 new holes because the circle cut out is slightly too large.
I recommended Polk Audio db651's for the rear. Polk Audio Makes a db651 and a db651s which is a slim line speaker that doesn't come with an adapter mounting bracket.
When I recommended the "db651's" he ordered the db651s. This was a miscommunication that I feel bad about and I will try to be more careful next time.
It costed him a few days an $9 to return them. Message my your address and I will send $9. My bad.
There have been many discussions on this subject, and many people say 6.5" speakers are what they use. In my car, I installed a pair of 6.75" Kenwood speakers, and the mounting holes lined right up.
