And if you haven't cleaned it during the time it was on the car, it may be dirty enough that it won't allow enough air to pass thru it.
It's easy to over-oil them if you aren't careful. For the money they want for them,. I have changed to buying "regular" air filters. They are easy to find, will last at least a year, and most brands are not terribly expensive.
