My Lift Stand
A better jack and 4 6-ton stands would work as well. If you want wheel support you can build 2x4 cribbing blocks to support the wheels cheap.
I suppose if you want something flashy for pictures....
If you spend a lot of time putting you car up and down in the air or need to stand underneath your car, then a full-on lift is great. In my case, I have a low ceiling and only put my car up maybe once or twice a year for a day - so to me a hydraulic lift would just be something to trip over and walk around most of the time - more inconvenient than convenient (for me).
Every lift system has it's good and bad points. MyLiftStands are very well built and strong and do what they are designed to do well - far more secure than jack stands IMO. I have several lift systems that I use for different operations, but I am very happy with that purchase for what I do. It is not something I would recommend for a Mechanic Shop where they are constantly lifting cars in the air on a daily basis, but for occasional home use it is a great tool to have in your bag of tricks.
I don't have any photos in the full-up position (yet):
My Kwik-Lift is more versatile in that you can remove the wheels as well with accessories, but takes up a lot of space when not in use. It is also faster getting the car into the air (if you have room to keep it set up). One down side is that the car has to be driveable to use it. The MyLiftStand can raise the car straight up even if it is dead (i.e. broken transmission cable, etc.).
In a regular garage, you "could" park on it, but not with my tile floor. I spend 98% of my time detailing and doing mechanical operations on the ground - so clear space is my priority...
