I leaned an empty cardboard box on it since it is in storage and I'm remodeling a bathroom right now.
Last weekend I repaired the drivers side mirror glass that turned yellow from the liquid inside. Have a new tire sensor to install soon and still waiting on the SLP spoiler to deliver from RPI. Then an oil change, trans fluid change and possibly a new serpentine belt.

Yes, perforated real leather from Ridies, eBay, $575.00 Plus $60 for the console cover. I had to hassle with them to break the console cover from a set with the boots for the shifter and e-brake lever.

That is who made my seats. I had a nightmare with the shipping but they showed up after 5 weeks. Super quality but the customer service was less than stellar. I want the console cover too I wondered if they would split it up.

i didn't replace the foam but wish i had. I still need to get some wrinkles out. If it ever warms up, i'll set her in the sun, get out the steamer and hair dryer and see what i can do about the wrinkles. Hopefully, it may "fluff" up some of the foam areas also. My covers are perforated leather and i really like them (ridies).
It took me and my neighbor to attach the "latches" at the bottom of the back covers - four hands are the minimum required to get them latched.
I agree with the youtube install videos - i think they edited a lot of troubles and cussing out!!!

mirror fix
You can remove the outer pane which releases all the liquid and then simply clean the inner pane and reinstall in the housing. It was free and worked. Hardest part was freeing the oem glass from the black plastic frame without breaking the frame. No need to remove the heating pad. When all cleaned up just seal the mirror to frame again and back into the housing. You'll lose the auto dimming feature, but who cares.

I had no problems with Ridies order or their shipping. But, I did have to hassle them for the console cover, and they finally relented.

Today I went to town (12 miles) and washed and dried my C5, dried the vert top well with a towel then let it sit in the sun until dry. I then applied 303 Fabric Guard to the top.
I've had this car since Dec. 28th. and when I've washed it before the top really soaked up the water, so I'd bet it had never had a good sealer on it for years, maybe never. I'll probably put another coat on after this one cures.
The only bad thing about living in the boonies is that by the time I get home from the car wash the car is covered in dirt again - UGH! I live 3.5 miles off the blacktop, and if the kicked up dust from my car isn't bad enough, other trucks and cars come flying by in a cloud of dust that covers me.

Today I cleaned all rubber gaskets and applied 303 Rubber Seal Protectant. I pulled up the 'vert top to clean and seal the bottom rubber seal and found that the rubber there has some bad spots that are really worn, ripped or coming unglued in places. It looks like I will need a new seal before long. That should be fun removing the old seal and replacing it. (I've only had the car since Dec 28, 2017, so I'm still finding things that still need attention.)
While I was letting things dry I also did a some detailing under the hood.

1999 Work in Progress.......Replaced the plastic mirror mount on the passenger's mirror. The mirror would not work and after investigating I found a "Mickey Mouse" fix using a backing plate and mirror glass from a C-6 had been mounted in the housing. Problem is a C-6 backing plate won't mount to a C-5 mirror motor. This one was being held in with zip ties. I found a "parts" mirror on e-bay the other day and that showed up yesterday. I removed the plastic mirror mount from that one this morning and mounted it on my C-5. It fits perfectly and the mirror motor now works correctly. Now I'm just waiting on a new mirror glass to show up. The C-6 mirror is slightly larger than C-5 and there is no way to "make it fit". I should have a fully functional "correct" passenger's mirror in the next few days so I can check that small job off my ever expanding "fix" list.

Getting ready for spring. New larger Spyder wheels, tires, calipers, rotors. Interior mods (adding red inserts) are next.

Just jumped over 150k on my 2000. Balancer was fine, but when the seal failed it created a groove in the balancer so even if I replaced the seal, it would not seat correctly and would continue to leak.
