Default Tire Size Help

I am going to mount some chrome C6 Z06 spyder wheels on my 2002 Z06. They are 8.5X18 and 10X19. I am going with Continental DW 265/35/18 and 305/30/19. Does this combination sound correct? Thanks for any help.

I have C6 spyders on my 02 coupe. The correct fit is 325 rear 285 front.

Just under 1" difference in diameter, you should be fine from the traction control/active handling standpoint. Diameters are essentially identical to Z06 stock, so your speedometer wouldn't be off either.

Those tire widths won't work with your posted wheel widths. Ask me how I know...

This might help. The widest for an 8.5" rim is 255, and 285 for a 10" rim. 9" minimum, ideally 9.5-10" for 265, and 11" minimum for 305, ideally 11.5-12".

I tried a 275/40 and 325/35 on 18x9 and 19x10.5. They wouldn't fit.

On Continental's website, the approved rim size for the 305/30/19 is 10.5-11.5". The approved rim size for 265/40/18 is 9.0-10.5".

I just stuck with stock 08-09 Z06 sizes. No problems.

The dimensions of the wheels by the you have listed are for the stock C6 not the Z06, with those wheels I believe the offset of the rear tires is not friendly with the C5.

Size Offset Application
18" × 8.5" +56 88-96 frt/rear, 97-13 frt exc. C6 Z06, ZR1, Grand Sport, C7 frt exc. Z51
19" x 10" +79 05-13, C7 exc. Z51 rear

18" x 9.5" +57 97-04 rear, 05-13 frt

He may have purchased reproduction wheels that have a C5 friendly offset. There are several vendors selling those.....
May be helpful info for me as I like the wheels on this C6 and was wondering how they would fit on a C5 Z06. These are advertised as being
C6 OEM GM Z51 Split Spoke Rims & Tires
Rear tire sizes are 285-30-19
Front tire sizes are 245-35-18
These wheels should be the same specs as the ones that the O.P. was asking about shouldn't they? Didn't mean to jack the thread but the info should be relevant. Can anyone explain would these not be C5 friendly as I don't know what the back spacing on the C5 Z06 is.

Those rim widths are for the base C6, not the Z06, as Gordy M pointed out.

Base C6 tire sizes were 245/40x18 up front and 285/35x19 at the rear. Seems to me likely that the GM engineers knew what they were doing when they picked that combination - and because they were stock sizes, there's a lot of choice.

Yes, I see now that the sizes that you posted excluded Z51. I thought the Z51 was the same size as a base. Are the Z51 the same dimentions as Z06 then? I guess the fact that these are advertised with a 285 on them threw me too.
Looks like I still need to do some more searches. Thank you both.
