Default oil catch can

Just ordered an Elite Engineering oil catch can for my 2007 Z06 and was wondering if it would be a good idea to put one on my 2001 LS1. The PCV system seems to be a lot different. Do LS1s have then same issues with sucking oil into the intake? My LS1 firebird has gone 94K without one.

I put an EE catch can on my LS1...it traps a little oil, but not a lot. But, I don't track my car either. YMMV.

My 2000 LS1 C5 has issues around high G bends on the track - oil collects in the heads and gets sucked into the intake. Interested to see what options are out there for typical catch - can installs. I have an LS6 valley cover I plan on installing as well.

I have an Elite Engineering catch can on my '03 and it does catch some oil and keeps it from going into the intake. While I do not track the car or drive it extremely hard, keeping the oil out of the intake just made sense to me and the expense was worth it.

What my intake looked like at 6000 miles, I removed & cleaned in & out, & at 9200 miles which is about 5 summers of driving my Elite Can has caught 1/2oz of oil.

If you run your car at the mid to higher rpm's consistently I would get one for sure. They seem to collect more oil at the higher revs. I don't run it hard very often but it's on there just to have peace of mind.

Pulled the PCV hoses on my C5 LS1 and C6 LS7. Doesn't seem to have a speck of oil in either one. Does that mean anything. Seems to me if they were sucking oil there would be some in those hoses.
