I sold my 2003 Z06 about 2 years ago had 38000 miles car was very nice condition and sold for 26,500 I am looking for another Z06. I have actually found one that I like it is a 2004 Commemorative Edition with 16000 miles original owner car. They are asking 29,500 for the car. Does this sound in the ball park. What are the Z06 values doing. Are they leveling off still depreciating or maybe starting to trend up in value ? I have been out of the market for a while so just trying to figure out what is going on Thank You
Is this from a dealer or private party? $29.5 is pretty steep, for that price I would expect really low miles, like 5k or less. I would expect that car should go for around 25, give or take a grand.

Not surprised a dealer would ask that much. I'm sure someone out there that really wants one would pay that, that's about 4-5k more than I'd be willing to pay though.

Good input so far..... I am not in a rush so will keep watching the listings here.
Just sold my 84 911 so want look at another Z06 . But overall it looks like the C5 Z06
is holding it value compared to what I sold for 2 years ago.
Seems some of these 03/04's have been at 30K forever and ever. Back in 07 I could have bought a local w/super low mileage for 30. And would have if he had shown up for the appointment.
Sold my 03Z w/5K in mods for 27 six yrs ago w/24K miles. Saw one recently where the asking is almost 35.
When I bought my 03 5 years ago I looked at a few low mile 04's from dealers that were all at $29-30k then. Maybe the 04CE models are still commanding that high of a price. They are nice, but if you plan to drive and mod one much I sooner go with an 02-03 with more miles for much less money. Paid $23k for mine with 36k on it, 1 owner bone stock car.
I was reading a recent article in the WSJ about GM stock/profit. The article stated that "GM estimates used-car prices nationally sank 7% in the first quarter (of this year), the steepest drop in recent years."
(of this year) is my insert.

Internationally, new car sales are down for months. That's gonna affect used cars. I've seen new Cadillacs for almost $20k off MSRP. I really like the ATSV coupe, but next year they'll be less than half price.

I believe the recent down trend in used car prices has been partly caused
by the large number of leased cars coming off lease.
The price jumps and then drops every few months. I saw it when I was in the market for my C5Z. After I got mine (70K miles for $20K) the value jumped 20%. Then it went right back down.
For base models the price can be talked down easily. For Z06s, dealers and everyone else will usually hold their asking price and not budge. They'd almost rather let it rot in a used car lot than let it go for less than what they're asking.

"Weaker used-car prices can siphon away sales of new cars as consumers choose cheaper options, while falling resale values make it more expensive for car companies to lease vehicles."
agree with a lot of the comments but corvette beats to the tune of its own drummer. this is an odd car in that people rarely cross shop. the biggest pressure on the c5z is the c6z and so far that hasn't went down all too much in the past few years. the 08+ coupe may be another as it's such a good power producer.
i'm not certain the c5 trend will continue as it has. prices have been basically flat since 2007. so much depends on how the market starts to view them. will it be just another corvette or will it be a low production car?
other cars from the same era that were low production like the integra type r and mark 4 supra have appreciated strongly over the past 15 years . either one of those cars will sell for more now if it's a mint low mile example than they did new in their day
the value of the c4 really took a nose drive just a couple years after the release of the c6. so far that hasn't happened with the c5 but it's possible especially if GM discontinues most parts like they have with the c4
a lot of c5s are getting to the age that they are starting to need some fairly substantial age related service
I think the 04 CE Z-06 will always command a premium over a similar "regular" Z-06. How much of a premium depends on miles and condition. The lower the miles and the better the condition the more the premium. The 03 AE and the 04 CE have some collectible value to them, but only if kept stock and relatively low miles and good condition.

I agree, Autotrader did an article in September talking about how the c5 z06 is currently the most affordable sportscar & bang for the buck you can buy.
I got a very good deal for a car, i dont want to say but i feel it was better than that. look online and spend a few weeks as there will always be another awesome looking c5z.

we have seen 100k mile AE and CE cars sell but the premium diminishes. it's still there but nothing like a 5k mile car
