Bought and Received My Side Skirts and took them to the Body Shop to have painted. They Painted them and decided to let them put them on. The shop called me and ask where I got them from because they didn't fit. I told them I got them from C7 Carbon.com and didn't just order them, I called and talked to the dude and gave him all the info on the car and he matched the Skirts up with the car. They ask me to stop by and talk to them before they went any further. I stopped by after work and the guy showed me how they didn't fit. I started laughing and said first of all this one goes on the other side and second their Side Skirts not body molding. The guy turned red in the face and said the owner wasn't there that day and the Owner would be the one putting them on. He said he really didn't know much about Side Skirts. I said No **** then told him If You Screw Up My Car, You Will Pay For It he said No Problem, We'll Do it Right.
So now I'm real nervous....
Just hoping it turns out well.
Wow, yeah I wouldn't be able to sleep after a body guy told me that. Hope it works out for the best. I probably would have taken the car and skirts and left though and did it myself. Post pics when you can.
Good thing that the owner is installing them . Howecver, I would call the owner first thing and make sure that he has experience installing side skirts on a C5 otherwise take them to someone who does.
I would of packed it up. Was this at Pep Boys? lol
They don't know what they are doing. Study some tutorials and put them on yourself! It's not that difficult if you get someone to hold them (plus some tape) while you drill. Doesn't take long once you jack the car or get it on a lift.
Getting the car off the ground was the hardest part about installing them. I just did mine myself this week. Didn't even have a helping hand, I just used a box to hold up one side.
It's so easy, that I would be really nervous about letting that shop do them, lol.
Well at least he called and didn't try and just slap them on, props to him, a lot of guys wouldn't have called, messed up the car and the skirts and then not owned up to their work. So thats not bad at all, you're already ahead of the game.
Live and learn. They did a great job painting them. I will call the owner Monday and make sure with whats going on.
I'll post up pics when they get through
Got my car back today and WoW!! What a difference it makes. Looks great.
I walked in the office and the lady ask me if I was paying with cash or card, and I told her cash. She then said the owner wanted to talk with me. So I met him outside and he apologized to me. said the boy I talked to on Friday was new and really didn't know anything about side skirts. The bill was $325 for painting and installation, he ask if $200 sounded good (he said he would only charge for painting and the installation would be on him) I said "sounds good to me"... he stuck the bennies in his pocket (haha) That was ok with me. Anyway I'll post pics when it quits rainning.
