Homelink sunvisor in shale?
I had a 99 Vette a few years back and was able to order a homelink black sunvisor for it. I'm back in a C5 again (after leaving a C6 and C7) but the interior is that lighter 50th anniversary color (shale?). Does anyone still make the replacement sunvisor with homelink in them and in shale?

A lot of people have, including me (twice).
See this link: http://www.digitalcorvettes.com/foru...light=homelink
You could also put the "Homelink" device somewhere other than the visor, several possibilities, do a search.

Just get the Medium Dark Neutral paint to match and paint the tiny cover that goes over the Homelink buttons.

I just ordered a black one to add to my visor unless someone here has a better location to add it to. always open to the exchange of ideas for this. I ordered one off of ebay.

Another tip, if you choose to do this; don't cut a single encompassing hole for the buttons, create individual holes, just slightly larger than the buttons, using something "HOT" (I used a soldering pencil) and elongate the center hole to accommodate the "activity" light. If you cut a single hole you risk the cover not "covering" it (the fabric tends to "creep\pucker" away from the hole).

When it comes to cutting the hole, start small and make several checks with the position of the transmitter buttons and trim just enough for them to pop out. Sew it back up with similar colored thread, then snap the cover over the buttons.
I have a big write up on how I did mine on a Homemade DIY thread on here (C5 section) somewhere.

i modified a regular garage door open to have an external button (momentary contact button wired to the button contacts on the door opener circuit board). have the contact button wedged under my driver seat.. so i reach down with my hand and press it. the garage door opener just lays under the seat. can't see it at all, works great, cost about $3 for the button, and didn't take much effort. I like the look of the homelink too!
there really isn't anywhere legit to put a garage door opener... or sunglasses....

I took the advice offered in modifying an existing garage door opener. Just bought a switch, removed the tiny pcb from the transmitter housing, soldered the wires up and hid it all under the seat. Button is basically invisible but easy to reach. Took all of 15 minutes and a couple bucks.
