The problem is that I have a 1000hp TT widebody coupe...
I have over 60k + car into the project... and im kinda tired of the car...
I tried to sell it and I cant get anyone to give me even 28k...
So.. I really want a convertible... So.. the idea was to make it a convertible...
I thought all C5's are basically convertibles, then they make them into coupes....
Your asking about a procedure you're unsure can be accomplished and then 7 hours later in another post you claim you're all set to have it done for 5K "all in". That's some quick work.

Why is it so hard to do?
In 1997, GM built a Fixed Roof Coupe and that design was used for the 1998 and later C5 convertibles. The C5 coupe was different in that the "halo bar" became the structural component for providing body stiffness. Cut that halo bar out and you will lose the rigidity.
I would certainly not attempt to build a convertible from a coupe. The engineering you would need to do and build something that would retain some comparable level of rigidity would be costly and you would need to figure out how to build in that strength.

its been pointed out time and time again on this forum for years that the design started as a vert. He will not lose substantial rigidity.
it is something that will make his car new again to him, I say go for it!
Do yourself a huge favor, sell the coupe and buy a vert if that is what you want. Best wishes!
Why would anyone want to go through all of that when you can just sell your car and buy a convertible . It is a whole different story when someone wants to convert a C3 because there are far less C3's out there , but there are C5 convertibles out there everywhere for a reasonable price .
