I have a 99 coupe and just got a Z.
I noticed in the owners manual there is a reference to that feature where if the lights were off, and you pulled the high beam stalk, the fog lights would come on to flash someone you were going to pass.
On the Z (which has no fogs) when I do that the hi beam lights turn on but the buckets do not raise. Curious if anyone else has noticed that.

Since the C5 has retractable headlights, pulling on the stalk will not raise the headlights. If you do have fog lights, pulling on the stalk with the headlights down will flash the fog lights. That's the only way you're going to get the flash-to-pass feature without raising the headlights.
And the buckets only raise when the stalk is turned, because that's the way it's wired. The C5 Z06 does not have flash to pass unless you install fog lights, it is well known information that has been discussed before.
Well I'll be damned. Just tried it. It works!!! Why not use this method to say howdy to another Vette instead of the wave? A hell of a lot easier to do than waving. Should we start a new trend with this knowledge?
I know this is what I am going to be doing. So when this becomes a nation wide trend you have read right here who started it!!!
