So who has installed this dorman intake? Every thread I have seen it sounds like it was kinda made for our cars... kinda not.... possible final design and manufacturing approved by a cross eyed house cat.... I don't feel like buying something that doesn't fit properly.

ls1tech has a whole slew of info on this intake. from the factory they really arent that big of an upgrade from an ls6 intake, but once you port it and open the larger throttle body they do add more power
My mechanic friend just installed mine .very tight install .it is much bigger than the ls1 intake in length not just height . All of the lines fit but need stretched out pretty good . It's a tight fit in a c5 .most of the issue is in the back where the plug is i . and you will have to cut an area into the cowling to clear the maf in the back of the intake . To me this intake is more like a fast than it is a ls6 manifold If you are concerned about that then get an ls6 instead . The dorman seems to have a crap load of volume and only two thin support posts inside . the runners look far superior to the ls1 and the ls6 . You surely need to port it due to the giant wedges in the runners .and under size TB opening . I have not drove the car yet but it seems to like the intake according to my mechanic it's smooth and there's no codes. I'll give a review in the coming days

Update :
Finally got my car done with the new intake .definite noticeable power gain starting at about 4,000 rpm .first - 2nd rips and third pulls much harder now and even gets the car squirrelly if your really on it . All in all I'd say it's worth the expense and trouble . Some guys on another forum report a stronger low end but on my car I felt mine punch harder mid-top of the power curve .It has a deep growl sound under hard acceleration . The butt dyno says it Certainly more than ten hp gain. Idle is a touch high about 950 rpm so I'm thinking maybe more time for pcm to learn or a diablo tune in the future will help and add even more for this mod. I'm glad I went this route instead of buying a used ls6 intake because I've read many posts on here of guys being disappointed that they didn't notice an increase in performance with their ls6 swap . For 323$ Shipped from summit it was a nice bump dollar for dollar

I am installing this dorman intake for the same reasons as the OP.
But, as stated, I am having fitment issues with it at the rear cowling..
I really Hate to grind up on my cowl, esp since it's a convertible. I don't
want/need any rattles, looseness, etc.
Any suggestions ???
(ps, I'm doing Kooks LTs, 1.8 yella terra rockers, ls6 springs, ti retainers, all at same time). Thanks alot oil pressure sending unit - the only reason I've had to pull it apart!!!

really no way around it bro . Just cut a patch out that's the minimum required for the plug , nothing really back there in that space to be too worried about
