Back in a C5
I just bought this very nice 97. I previously had a 98 coupe and a 2002, both 6 speeds. This one is an automatic with the performance rear axle and pretty well loaded. Sebring Silver with the Firethorn interior. Only 58,000 miles on it. I had forgotten how good these cars really are. Still feels very modern. This is my 32nd Corvette in 46 years. Glad to have it in my small collection.

Which kit is the cobra? (they're all fun)
And welcome back to the C5 realm. Bang for your buck entertainment.
Thanks for the welcome back. You have sharp eyes. The Viper is a 2001 Sapphire Blue GTS coupe. No Cobra. Vettes are 61, 65 and a 2016 Z06.

You are a very, very lucky man. Not only do you have a great car collection (and the newest addition looks beautiful), you live in the greatest place in the world...Cape Cod.
Are you in Sandwich? My family is originally from New England. I've gone to The Cape...probably 40+ times in my life for 10-14 days/trip (usually to some combination of South Yarmouth, Chatham, and Provincetown). Anyways, I'll be retiring there...someday (just 30 years until retirement ).

I'm very jealous.
Thanks very much. Yes I am in Sandwich near Mashpee on Mashpee/Wakeby Lake. Stop by your next visit
Very nice addition to a great collection of Corvette's! Wagon wheels, love 'em or hate 'em, I say keep 'em! Love the auotmobilia (sp) especially the Mobil Flying Horse.

Thanks. I know the wagon wheels look a bit dated but they look correct, so I'm keeping them. The car is all stock and unmolested. I may do exhaust. Stock is too quiet.
You have some beautiful cars, and congrats on your new to you '97. I worked in the NYC metro area for 30+ years and made many trips to the Cape. Love it, everything about it. Especially loved going up mid winter and walking the beaches looking at the weathered gray shingle/clapboard houses and buildings and taking in that salt air. A magical area! Good luck with your new baby, looks like she's in good automotive company. Best wishes!

Thank you Mike. The C5 still feels and looks modern. It's a lot of car for the money. I think I'm going to drive the 97 to Carlisle this summer.
Some of my friends asked me why I bought a C5. The simple answer is that they're great cars.
I sold my 01 coupe when I got my C6 and it took me five years to realize I missed it. Bought an 04 Z06 in 2012 but I find myself driving it less and less since I got the 2016 Z06.
And the 66 gets a lot of seat time while the 70 sits in the building.

Brad, you've got a great fleet there You and I have been on the Forum for quite a while and have very similar tastes. The C7Z is a blast, but the C5 is also a lot of fun. It's like revisiting my past being in one again. Everything is familiar and alot less complex than the new Z, but it just works very well.
Thanks. I stalked a dsb GTS for years. Almost got an ACR with the radio/stereo add option, but family health took center stage at the time. Been rebuilding since. I love the final production cars coming out now, but the 01 deep sapphire blue will always be the one for me. My next project will be that car, a 70s Pantera, or a 47/53 Chevy pickup.
I guess everyone is on the alley now, but I miss the old vca forums. Made a lot of friends there even without being an owner.
July 9th or 10th this year will be the Club Corvette of Connecticut annual show. They hold it in Guilford at the Moroso shop. You should choose one of your rides and swing down.
