So this is my 2nd C5Z but I didn't ever notice this on my 2001. My 2003 seats lean forward w/o lifting on the lever in the back. My wife is complaining because if I am driving "spirited" that she feels like she's lunging forward. What is the point of the levers on the back of the seats if they just lean forward anyway? It also doesn't seem as safe for them not to be fixed w/o releasing the lever? Am I missing something?
That's how they are. They have a good couple inches of flop in them. If you look where the hinge is, you'll see a little pin that fits in a notch. The notch is what allows them to move.
The setbacks do move quite a bit. The seats will not prevent your wife or anyone from lunging forward. That is the job of the seatbelts. Are your seat belts locking upon hard deceleration? The shoulder harnesses should lock up due to the inertia.
if you are planning to do spirited driving, you could try giving advanced notice and havery her pull the lap belt all the way out and let retract. That will make the lap belt lock. That is a feature to allow child seats to be installed but also helps keep your butt planted. (Works on driver seat too)
It could just be she isn't used to a sport's car performance and feel.

Mine definitely has more than a couple inches of play.

This is my second C5Z and she didn't complain about it in the first one. Then I had a 2015 Mustang GT and she never said anything about it in there either. I realize the seat belts have the ability to hold her in but when I shift her seat is moving forward. It's simply not practical nor comfortable for her to sinch down her seatbelt every time I drive.
The Corbeau Seats look great. I don't even mind the lettering....but I too am not a fan of advertising products on my car. I had the floppy seat in my 2000 FRC when I got it. First thing I did was replace the seats. I went a little more conservative on price with the Cypher brand. I'm happy with the seats.... no logos either.

I like the seats pictured here. I need to replace my stock seats as they are worn, uncomfortable and they make you sweat a lot. What Cipher model are these and where did you purchase? I do some spirited driving so they look like they hold you pretty well. We also like to take long road trips. How are these from a comfort standpoint on long drives?
But they have a wide variety of seats, materials and pricing. My seats were a very tight fit, but I got them in there. Fairly stiff feel, but I'm OK with that. Haven't done a long trip yet.... should be fine, but look though their whole selection. What ever you do, get the narrowest seats you can find....space is very limited, especially for recliners.
