I've had the CLB installed since 2007. That's what was available when I bought the car and had the issue. I have since bought the LMC5 and have it in the car for the just in case senerio. I always think about installing the LMC5 but then also think why mess with something that's not broke and been working for 10 years now. We'll see if that statement comes back to haunt me someday.
The problem is if it does lock there are extra steps to do before installing the LMC5.
I bought my 2003 Z new and I had the column lockup the second year I had my car at 17,000 miles. In my driveway. Facing my open garage door. Got it unlocked the next morning. Overnighted a CLB and didn't move the car until I installed it. I have never had a problem since. Don't anybody hesitate who hasn't done it yet.

I've had my car tuned to eliminate the 2 mph cutoff. I had it set at 200 so I will be able at least drive it someplace and not be stranded. Also, the lock ring has been modified by the dealer before I bought it so the wheel can still turn. I'm happy with the CLB still so I will leave it for now.
