Competition Driving Mode???
Is there any info on the difference between the active handling & the competition driving settings?
Not that its a big concern, but since I found the setting I have become curious

Active = Traction control and Stability
Off= No Traction or Stability
Comp Driving = Stability only no Traction control

JL4 is the option code on the build sticker in the glove box for Active Handling(AH),(on the driver's side storage comp cover pre '99)or you will see 'Active Handling' above the AH/TC button on the console; AH became a standard option in 2001 and 2nd gen. AH was also introduced; the 98-00 cars require you to be stopped before engaging "Compitive Driving" while the 2001 and later cars can engage CD on the fly
half of the '99FRC's had the JL4 AH option

They are Word documents. If you still can't get them to open, shoot me a PM with your e-mail address and I'll forward them to you that way.

Hold the traction control button down for 5 seconds until it pops up on the DIC. I believe you cannot be moving, depends on the year.

On my 2000, I would have to hold the TC button down for almost 10 seconds before going into Competition Mode.

my 99 FRC has competition mode - I read a thread here that holding down on the switch for like 5 seconds will activate it - I immediately tried it out!

Most people will get around faster with AH engaged.
Comp mode lets you have a little more fun getting around.
Buuuuut.......if you arent in the "most people will get around faster with AH on" group.....Comp mode is nothing special....and you will probably go faster with it all turned off.
Just being a realist here......

Did you push and hold the button for a few secs? That's what turns the comp mode on
