FWIW, I had a friend in High School that would use Astroglide on his tires and his dash with pretty great results. He did this until his dad stopped working at the Adult Store.
Can't say that I have ever heard that one before!! I know one thing though, with that Astroglide you can squeeze a Cadillac into a doghouse.
I use Stoner's More Shine...the name is a fooler as it doesn't leave a shiny finish at all...it leaves a nice matte finish that looks good and lasts quite a while...
Just bought a bottle of this but have not tried it yet....thanks
Nice thing about it is that it doesn't sling and can be used in the engine bay on plastics and such. Hence the name, Vinyl, Rubber & Trim. Let me know what you think!

Going to Cars and Coffee tomorrow so just went out and applied some, looks really good, seems to just enhance the black with no shine, probably doesn't hurt that the tires are brand new with only a few miles on them....will see how it holds up...thanks again
Been using the No Sling tire dressing from Chadwick's. It comes in a gel. use a very small quantity and apply with a sponge. It looks great but not overdone.
I switched to water-based Meguiar's and buy it in the big gallon size. You cut it with water to achieve the shine level you want. I cut it 1:1 for the tires, and I cut it more for interior and under-hood trim to get a semi-gloss sheen. It doesn't last as long on your tires as the silicone-based stuff, but that is what I want---something that dries quickly and doesn't sling all over my paint. Also much easier to remove when washing your car.
Here is a different idea. Sounds strange, but works. Once cleaned with Bleach white or the like, spray the tires down with Pledge furniture polish and wipe down. No more brown tires, good for the tires, no slinging gooey mess, pitch black - dull shine tires. It is cheap and also smells good. Just do not get caught raiding the wife's cleaning supplies!
Looking for opinion here....what are your thoughts on tire dressing and shine on your car, especially for shows....I almost feel when the tires are shiny it kind of takes away from the wheels...
Yup, I'm with ya, never liked the "shiney rubber"....an oxymoron, prefer clean, black (but mat) tires.....
I agree with Lemon Pledge....I first saw this used years ago when detailers getting cars ready at the SEMA show were using Pledge on the tires. It works best if you spray the towel/applicator and then apply it to the tires to control the shine. IMO, it gives the perfect look for car shows, etc.
I also use Chadwicks and am very happy with the easy of application and look. There are a lot of good products out there, it really comes down to personal preference and availability.
I use Griot's Garage. Not shiney and a very nice matte finish. Vinyl and Rubber dressing.
I think it is American dressing and not Russian or Thousand Island.
