I uncovered it about a month or two ago once it stayed nice enough regularly for me to drive it (I put summer tires on it and did not want to drive it in the winter for that reason). I have been treating the car cover like a "use it in the winter time" deal, not to be used until it gets cold again. But I am just at my wits end with this car.

Almost daily birds **** all over the car. I feel utterly defeated, I can't do anything to make them leave this car alone. Each day the car seems to have either dust or little white fuzzy specs on the glass. I live in Northern KY, so it's not like I live out west where sand is a big issue so I guess it's just pollen or something. Bugs will not get off the car, constantly the specs of dirt I think I see are just a dozen bugs all over the car. I ignore them after it's dry, and come out the next day and several of them are dead and somehow stuck to the car.

The one that has pushed me over the edge is some very small (slightly bigger than a pen tip) specs that I would say are like drops from berries, but all I can say is I have to scrub very hard with a damp cleaning rag to get it off. Pressure washer does nothing to this stuff. I just put some more wax on it to try and see if that helps, I go to the hand operated car washes plenty and for what good it does I use their high pressure clearcoat setting before doing spot free (they have no wax setting).

This car has gorgeous paint, but I'm sure the previous owners kept it in a garage. The yellow paint is so bright that dirt is extremely noticeable on it and I feel like **** driving it around when it's not clean. But the bugs crawling on the car (and on me...) along with the humidity out here, this is just killing me. I'm honestly starting to think about selling the car because I'm either going to have to kill myself almost daily to keep it clean or just let the finish get ruined and I don't want to damn this low mile well kept car to that fate just because I lack a garage.

Of the half dozen cars I have owned so far, this is the one that I just cannot keep clean and is stressful to clean. Is it the age combined with the paint quality GM used? The color? I love driving this car, but I hate washing and detailing cars. I used to have a silver Coyote Mustang, it was not as much fun to drive but so much easier to keep clean and looking good.

Suggestions? Advice? My other vehicle is a truck, so I don't have to drive the Corvette everywhere (but then why own it if you aren't going to drive it?).
Get one of those fake owl or hawks at the farm store. Put on a post near the car. They really do help. As far as cleaning, you need to clean it good and apply some good wax & a sealer. After that the bugs can more easily be wiped off with an easy detailing spray.

I'm in the same situation; I park in the yard because I have my airplane in the garage. I wash my baby just about every other day (just a quick sponge job when I get home). Can't stand it when it gets nasty! I think that the temporary canopy thing would be good, but as soon as the weather turns, I'll just sock a good quality cover over it.

They work until the birds notice the owl doesn't move.

I have one of these that I'm still trying to figure out where I can put it up. Had to special order from Ozzland as they seem to be the only place making these. These are supposed to be natural predators to most birds so they see the outline and the wind blows it around and scares 'em away. Problem is finding something and somehow to mount it up really high so it's taller than the trees.
