Default Service Active Handling question

I washed the engine bay of my 2000 coupe yesterday. Since I didn't want to use a pressure washer I used a small paint brush with soap and water then rinsed the bay with a water hose. Bad news is that after I started the car I get a "Check Gauges" and "Reduced Engine Power" warning light. Now the car won't rev over 1000 RPM, Could this be a simple fix like reattaching a loose wire or something more serious. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Another reason to keep they cars as dry as possible. After reading post after post, I have come to the conclusion that these cars really don't like water.

One of many things I learned from CF forum is to NEVER, I MEAN NEVER, expose the engine bay intentionally to water unless you like to resolve electrical issues.

Hope you find your issues and resolve them without to much problems.

You could check all of the grounds to be sure they are clean. Use dry air to dry off the engine and everything that got wet and hope for the best. Pull the codes on the DIC and maybe that will tell you where to start. Electrical gremlins can be very hard to track down. Best of luck.

look at this thread, both drivers side & pass side has this, if you used a lot of water at the windshield area, perhaps this might be something to look at.
