clutch issue
My clutch appears to be dragging for lack of a better word. Here is the symptom.
If I start the car with the clutch pedal down I can easily shift it into any gear. If I release the clutch in neutral and then press it to the floor again you can hear the input shaft continues to turn and naturally it will not easily go into gear.
I don't think bleeding the clutch will help as it does not engage until about 1/2 travel.
It is like maybe a small spot or some thing on the clutch disc is swelled up or some thing. Other than this the clutch works perfectly. Very smooth, engages at 1/2 travel, does not slip. no chatter or grabbing. I have aligned the shifter box and used 1 washer on the detent mod.
Same symptoms, turned out to be pilot bearing. FYI do not (if the PB is failing) use a bronze bushing. Also finding a new input if yours is damaged is not easy, no longer available thru GM.

Mark
Mark, thanks for the input. I had not thought about the pilot bearing but I see how that could be the issue
