Hmm that is interesting. I had heard of this but this is the first thing I've read about it. I'll do a google search, but in the mean time, does anybody know exactly WHAT the problem with the cooling system is?
The C7 Z06 overheating is not a new issue, I've heard about owners complaining about it when they came out. They also had other problems with the engine early on.
I wonder if the mid-engine C8 will have this problem

go check out the C7Zo6 forum read all about it, it affected the earlier 15 16 cars the worse, but with high track temps SOME cars overheat.
A friend of mine with the money to have newer vette's asked me to put a question to Tadge at Carlisle last year - that's me with the southwestern-themed backpack. He found this clip and exclaimed - 'You're famous! - I'm seeing all kinds of chatter about his reply!"

GM should have recalled all these cars and made the necessary cooling system improvements.
Lot of reputational harm done to the Corvette, Chevrolet, and GM brands which I'm sure when quantified in the form of reduced future sales, is much more than the cost of recalling these cars.

It sucks to buy a new car for that kind of price and have problems. Honestly, I wouldn't even try the lawsuit though, especially against the towering company GM . It would probably cheaper to just upgrade the cooling system, like an external trans cooler ($80), external oil cooler ($100), bigger radiator ($600-900), better fans ($50-200), open up the front end where needed to let the air in (varies depending on methods), and open up the hood to let the extra air and heat out (varies depending on methods). I had heating problems on the C5, and I did all that for around $2500. I'm sure the sue will be well above that.
There are groups of lawyers around the country who make a living by looking for issues for a class action lawsuit. It only take 4 individuals to sign up to start one. These are the same trolls who started taking your online pictures and and copyrighting them and then sending you a bill for everyplace that picture appears and how many times you site was accessed. The is especially true in the Real Estate and ForSale sites and facebook sites.

The way to fix it is buying a grand sport and continuing to drive while the Z06 limps around. Cars a lot of times are all hype and marketing. Any true track rat knew before it came out that it was going to overheat. Spend your money on brakes, suspension, tires, and cooling. Then add a little horsepower but the first time you get passed by a Miata through a turn you realize there is a lot more to driving a track than HP. The grand sport is a good track package to start.

Or get/stick with a C5z, and get suspension, brakes, tires, and cooling lol hell of alot cheaper than the C7gs and C7z, and lighter weight
