I think we all know the answer to that question. One is a two seater rear engine sports car, the other is just a Corvette.

I'd take the $15K used Corvette. I would enjoy driving it more.

LOL... that aside, posting on a Corvette site if one would rather have a Corvette or an equally priced economy car; the answer may be one sided.

Smart cars look like a death trap. The gas mileage isn't even that good.
The few times I've seen them on the street, the driver is always OLD.

Unless you live in some Ye Old European Village where the streets are 10 feet wide cobblestone, I don't see the point.

OK seriously; my story on getting my first Corvette 4 years ago (my current car).
I had been driving BMW's for around 17 years and wanted a change. We discussed it for a bit, then saw an ad for a new Nissan Micra for right around $10K (where my story ties with yours perhaps). Wow, $10K for a brand new car, warranty... how responsible that would be, with a 3 year old and a new born (wife had a minivan which is now my winter vehicle). We actually looked into it... but realized that all told, with AC, taxes, around $17K (never would have happened anyway).
Let's start again. Do the kids ever go in my car, no. So 2 doors or even 2 seats is OK. Does gas mileage matter, no as I only drive 20 miles round trip to work. BMW to Micra turns to performance car, which turned to a Corvette. Started looking at C4 but HP limitations among other things went to C5 real quick.
2 test drives; one base which underwhelmed me, then a Z06. Bought it during the drive. Done.

I figure for the price of a smart car you can buy a Honda Fit that is 10X the car and actually gets better mileage. And fits real people and their stuff.

Please note that I have neither and do have a C5.

My 2012 VW Golf TDI had to go after "Diesel Gate" and VW hooked me with a brand new 2016 GTI last year. Performance package/Lighting package. I installed a stance kit springs/spacers and tinted the windows. Joined the GTI club. Love everything about this car!

6 months ago my Uncle Mack passed away and I inherited his 2001 C5 Coupe. I have completely forgotten about my GTI.

I have access to both. My mom has a 2014 smart fortwo and I have a C5.. I would take the C5 all day, every day. The smart has better seats, that's about all I can say. Funny though, there is more room in the smart than my C4 vette had.

What is a $15K new car?
A stripped Fiesta, Spark, or a Kia Accent?

No thanks.

Rather the Vette of course. People will smile and wave at both...one cause its a cool looking sports car and the other cause its a funny looking clown car.

I would buy the smart car and get 32" chrome spinner wheels for it with the money I saved . This way you get the great fuel economy and the classic good looks to draw in the ladies in your hood

I regularly see a Smart on I81. It's bad enough on that road with a normal sized cars given the wall to wall semis, but a Smart just looks like bait.

My wife has a 2014 Smart electric drive and loves it. With the federal and state rebates it did cost $15,000. I bought my C5 vert for $10,500 and love it. So we're both very happy.

I actually have a Fiesta as a daily; an SE trim hatchback. Even further hilarious is it was cheaper new than my used C5. It's a straight up piece though but it does what it needs to do at that price point I guess...

I’ve never seen one driving on the street, only in pictures.
They sure do look dangerous, nothing to them. You would probably get
killed if a guy a bicycle hit you.
