Extra key fob?

My '02 vette came with only one key and key fob. What would be the best process to get an extra key and key fob remote?

Ebay....new fully functioning aftermarket keyfob is around $7 shipped. And then you can program it yourself.

As for the key, you need a multimeter to measure the resistance (ohms) on the chip portion of your existing key. That resistance will correspond to a "VATS" number (most ebay listings have the VATS chart to look it up). Then buy a blank key for $9 shipped on ebay (make sure to get a key with the VATS # that corresponds to your existing key) and have it cut at the Chevy dealer.

After I bought my key on e-bay for $10, I took it to a local key maker to cut and found he had the same key for $7.00.

I took my eBay-bought key to Lowes and they cut it for free. BTW, the C5 can have three FOBs programmed, which I have. I also have an extra key ( no FOB) I keep inside the car in case of a worn key VATs problem.
