On the pewter '00 I had, I installed an MCM hood and the body shop charged me right around $800 for the paint and install. That was probably a little high, but they did an excellent job.

I am sorta embarrassed to say how much I paid...if you want a show car paint job then no amount is too much, there were over 50 paint chip colors of Torch Red for the painter to choose from and my original color was used as the baseline....there was not a need to blend front or fenders with the hood...never saw anything like it...computer matched so no guessing...I always overpay for anything I really want and I usually get it... $ still talks...otherwise I'm "frugal"...

My stock hood got scratched by some kids, cost me $500 for a paint job. I would guess yours might be more $

An arm and a leg...primer sealer/2 coats paint/2 coats clear....
"depends on the painter.. If he is busy.. it will cost more... 500-600 is about right.. maybe a little more if you want him to make it fit properly. "
Um...500-600 will usually get you a rattlecan job
It took 15 mins to take old hood off and put new MCM S/C high rise hood on...zero adjustments...it was insaine
Heres a few more shots...

BTW/FYI...heres what the Corvetteforum Editor, Patrick Morgan said about the/my MCM Hood...
"Front page news for sure!
Why on Earth Did the C5 Not Come From the Factory With This Hood?
Folks who love the C5’s looks are steadfast in their beliefs, but we think this hood is a wonderful improvement.
When we debate which generation of Corvette is the best looking, the results are always polarizing, but we have noticed one constant. Fans of the C5 Corvette always point out that it has the most slippery and smooth shapes of all generations of Corvette. And they are right. So to alter any lines on this car, it takes careful consideration to not make something look out-of-place. Yet one Corvette Forum member has found an awesome way of improving the look of his C5, with a carbon fiber hood by MCM.
High-rise hoods have been popular for years, and for a number of reasons. Mainly to make room for components that are nestled underneath. But this Corvette is stock. For now at least. We think that’s okay, because it isn’t really a modification making any particular promises. Plus being made out of high quality carbon fiber, and with a functional heat extractor vent, it ticks all the right boxes for us. After all, the S/C high rise hood does give the excuse for occupying that extra free space with a blower.
We also like that it incorporates the smooth C5 lines with hints of big block hoods from the past, especially big block C3 Corvettes. As a note, this hood looks great in red, but if you think about how this hood would look in black, that would be especially sinister."
WOW Patrick!...THANK YOU for the complement on my MCM S/C HIGH RISE hood!!!
