Engine light under hood
that is attached to the underside of my hood. The light recently
went dead on me and I can't figure out why. I had an electrician
friend of mine check all my fuses and we found a 15 amp fuse
that was burnt out. I replaced that fuse, but it didn't remedy the
problem. There is a wire connector close to the hood hinge where
the wire heads on up to the light. We disconnected the wire at that location and checked for power, and there is none at the connector.
Any ideas on where I go from here? Again, all fuses are good at this point.

And those LED lights can be tricky in the underhood light housing. Out of all my LED swaps, that one has caused me the most issues so far. The housing does not allow for a tight fit for the LED replacement bulb on mine. Tried 3 different underhood LEDs (different brands) so far.
I finally ended up getting a good deal on a harness w/switch that goes from the light to the plug in near the bumper and only turn it on when I need to.

I have had no problem with the under the hood light since 2004...I disconnected it 2 weeks after buying the Vette because it was a source of running the battery down when the hood was open for a while(even though it cuts off after a while automatically) ...now that I have replaced my hood, there isn't even a place where it can be attached under the hood...and even if there was a place, I would never use the silly light anyway...

Bottom line here: if the car didn't have this light I'd get along just fine.
