Is it worth investing in an audio upgrade? I saw this video and was curious if it is worth it? Asking for a buddy but we would work on the project together. Here's the video:
To me that's like asking if you should have more power.
Do you want a better stereo? Then yes. Me; the only reason I'd update my head unit would be for aesthetic reasons. And I wouldn't bother unless I dropped a tablet in there to replace the stereo and heater controls (would need to create an interface for both, special programming...).
Those 2 items really are the weak point (ugly) in an otherwise fairly decent interior.
P.S. I very rarely even turn on the stereo, and my Z is my DD.

Grant,
I'm sure we both can agree that when you have a high end system at home, everything else pales by comparison.

Shakey
100%, a nice home system is a great experience, can sound amazing, life like, be a time of serenity
Add that there's a good sound system already; an LS6
Add that a car system has major limitations due to its environment
Add that I enjoy the peace on my daily drives
The stock stereo is junk. If you want better sound quality, upgrading is a must. Along with that, a Z06 benefits greatly from sound deadening. It has a loud interior by design and once that is calmed down, a good tune system really shines. A good double din head unit, a 5 channel amp, with components in the doors and coaxials in the rear pillars with a subwoofer in the rear sump and you are good to go. Double D mods or Vettenuts can provide the modified dash bezel to accept the double din head unit. The sound deadening is one of the best mods I have done to my Z. It will add some weight if that's an issue for you.
We have Bezels that are molded on the way in and should be here in 6-8 weeks. They are as close as you can get to an OEM bezel that accepts your double din. They are on sale right now so grab one while you can and save $100!
